Support your local Ambulance Responders Charity

About our Charity

Since 2009, our team has been responding to 999 calls on behalf of West Midlands Ambulance Service, delivered basic life support training and helped communities keep their public access defibrillators online across South Warwickshire.

Our charity has grown, both in terms of the team and our area, not only supporting Ettington but also Long Marston, Wellesbourne, Kineton, Bishops Itchington and the whole of Southam!

We are a volunteer-led charity, funded entirely by donations.

What do we do?

Community First Responders

Our dedicated team of CFR’s attend emergency 999 calls to some of the most unwell patients in South Warwickshire, such as cardiac arrests, strokes, road traffic collisions and chest pain.

They are highly trained volunteers who receive training from the ambulance service to a national standard.

Their quick response, prior to an ambulance, can make the difference between life and death.

Community Training & Engagement

Our Community Training and Engagement Team deliver a range of awareness training to community groups and members of the public in such things as basic life support and stop the bleed!

They also deliver engagement and speaker sessions for those who just want to learn a bit more about what we do, from show-and-tell to presentations.

Community Defibrillators

We support several communities with managing their Public Access Defibrillators (CPAD). These units are accessible by members of the public who call 999, the call handler will give them directions and the code to their nearest cabinet

We work with parish councils and other organisations to keep these life saving resources as available as possible.

Where does the money go?

Our charity costs thousands to run every year, from kit to uniform, from tyres to oil changes and our volunteers dedicate thousands of hours to respond, maintain skills, deliver training, fundraise and so much more.
We need to keep our responders and volunteers well kitted, warm and on the road.

The average cost of equipping and training one of our first responders is around £1,500, this includes their advanced driving course, safeguarding and mental health training.

As our response area grows, so does the need for another response vehicle.

A response car can cost us around £30,000, including hi-visibility livery, charity branding, emergency radio and messaging system, medical equipment and equipment storage.
